Roadmap to success Up close with Thailand's new Ministers

Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob said Every project must be transparent and accountable:
• Public buses will be powered by electricity in the future for clean energy
• Passenger capacity must be increased at Suvarnabhumi
• Don Mueang and other regional airports
• We will reduce the expressway toll" after a 15-baht flat-rate policy on the mass transit system.
• The Transport Ministry will regulate all modes of public transport, including all ride-hailing services.They will also be taxed under Thai law.
• Water transport for trucks between Prachuap Khiri Khan and Bangkok will alleviate the congestion on Rama II Road.
• Water, land and rail transportation will be promoted under his tenure.

Bangkok Post employees donated old desktop calendars to make braille books for the blind. The calendars were delivered to the Bangkok School for the Blind in Ratchawithi Road on 11 February 2020.

The 9 Destinations Awards 2009 Ceremony from ‘‘Thailand’s Top Destinations Vote!’’campaign was held on June 25 at the Centara Grand at Central World Hotel’s World Ballroom. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Sasitara Pichaichannarong, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, who also presented the awards.
Over 1,000 runners joined the Bangkok Post Mini Marathon 2009 being held on June 14 which saw four international winners and two from Thailand in the six categories.
Bangkok – Leo Burnett and ARC Worldwide joined with Bangkok Post to organize a charity photo exhibition of Mr. Garry Cooper, the 65 year old Australian creative director, who has a special bond with Thailand and wanted to contribute something back to his beloved Thailand. All proceeds from the “It’s Time to Give Back” photo exhibition and auction will be donated to the Bangkok Post Foundation to sponsor education support for poor Thai children.
