The award to mark International Women’s Day was given by Social Development and Human Security Minister Pol Gen Adul Sangsingkeo.
Khun Amornrat Mahitthirook, our transport and communications reporter, received an outstanding award in radio broadcasting. The award was given to her to mark International Women’s Day. Social Development and Human Security Minister Pol Gen Adul Sangsingkeo presented the award to Khun Amornrat.
The National Human Rights Commission honoured Khun Achara Ashayagachat for her outstanding contributions in defence of human rights. She was recognised for her news reports, analysis and commentaries published in the Bangkok Post. Thai PBS devoted a segment of their evening news of 8 March 2016, interviewing Khun Achara on her work.
Photographer Patipat Janthong received the Isra Amantakul Award for outstanding photo of 2016. Khun Patipat received the award at the annual gala event of the Thai Journalists Association. The award-winning photo showed a group of anti-coup students being taken away by police while protesting in front of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
The recognition that these three staff received, follows on from a string of awards and recognition the Bangkok Post and its staff received last year. On behalf of the company and all of us, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Khun Achara, Khun Amornrat and Khun Patipat.
